The short version
- FlowSync is an app for your computer. It uploads the files you choose to your Google Drive and downloads the files and folders you choose from your Google Drive.
- FlowSync connects your computer directly to Google. Your files, your Google sign-in tokens and your Drive information never pass through FlowSync's servers and are never stored by us.
- We use Google user data only to run the FlowSync features you use. We never sell it, never use it for advertising and never use it to train AI or machine-learning models.
- You can disconnect FlowSync from your Google Account at any time, and you can ask us to delete anything we hold about you.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the FlowSync app and the flowsync.cloud website (together, the "Service") collect, how we use it, where it's stored, who it's shared with, how it's protected, how long it's kept and how you can delete it. Section 2 covers Google user data: information FlowSync receives from your Google Account through Google APIs. If you have any questions, email us at info@flowsync.cloud.
1Who we are
FlowSync is developed and operated by FlowSync Technologies ("FlowSync", "we", "us" or "our"). You can reach us at info@flowsync.cloud or https://flowsync.cloud. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
FlowSync is an independent app. It is not made by, affiliated with or endorsed by Google LLC. Your use of Google Drive itself is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy.
2Google user data
This section explains exactly how FlowSync accesses, uses, stores, shares, protects, keeps and deletes Google user data.
Limited Use disclosure. FlowSync's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
2.1 What Google user data FlowSync accesses
FlowSync accesses Google user data only after you sign in with Google and approve the permissions shown on Google's consent screen. It accesses:
- Basic Google Account information: your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID.
- Google Drive file and folder details (metadata): the names, IDs, sizes, file types, dates and folder locations of the files and folders in your Drive. FlowSync reads this when you browse your Drive in the app and when you start a transfer.
- Google Drive file contents: the contents of the files you choose to upload or download, only while that transfer is running.
FlowSync requests these permissions (OAuth scopes):
| Permission | What it lets FlowSync access | Why FlowSync needs it |
|---|---|---|
openid .../auth/userinfo.email .../auth/userinfo.profile | Your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID. | To sign you in with Google and show which Google Account is connected. |
.../auth/drive | See, edit, create and delete all of your Google Drive files. | To show your Drive folders so you can choose what to download and where to upload; to download the files and folders you select, including large folders with many subfolders; and to upload the files and folders you choose into the Drive folder you pick, keeping their folder structure. FlowSync only reads or changes the files and folders involved in the actions you start. It doesn't delete, move or edit anything else in your Drive. |
FlowSync doesn't request access to any other Google data, such as Gmail, Contacts, Calendar or Photos.
2.2 How FlowSync uses Google user data
FlowSync uses Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features of the app that you choose to use:
- Signing you in with Google and showing which Google Account is connected.
- Showing your Drive folders and files so you can choose what to download and where to upload.
- Uploading the files and folders you select from your computer to your Google Drive.
- Downloading the files and folders you select from your Google Drive to your computer, keeping their folder structure.
- Showing transfer progress and status, and resuming transfers that were interrupted.
- Keeping a transfer history on your computer so you can see what was moved and when.
FlowSync doesn't use Google user data for any other purpose. In particular, FlowSync will never:
- Sell Google user data, or transfer it to advertising platforms, data brokers or information resellers.
- Use or transfer Google user data for advertising, including personalized, retargeted or interest-based advertising.
- Use Google user data to determine credit-worthiness or for lending purposes.
- Use Google user data to create databases or user profiles for any purpose other than the features listed above.
- Use Google user data, or data obtained through Google Workspace APIs such as the Google Drive API, to develop, improve or train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine-learning models.
2.3 Where FlowSync stores Google user data
FlowSync connects your computer directly to Google's servers. Google user data is stored only on your own computer and in your own Google Drive:
- Sign-in tokens: the access and refresh tokens Google issues to FlowSync are encrypted and kept in your operating system's secure credential storage (for example, Windows Credential Manager or macOS Keychain).
- Account details: your name, email address and profile picture are kept on your computer so the app can show which account is connected.
- Transfer history and settings: file and folder names, sizes, dates, destinations and transfer status are saved in FlowSync's app data on your computer.
- Your files: files you download are saved in the folder you choose on your computer, and files you upload are saved in your Google Drive. FlowSync doesn't keep any other copies.
FlowSync does not operate any server that receives, stores or processes Google user data. Your Google user data is never sent to FlowSync's servers or to our website.
2.4 Who FlowSync shares Google user data with
FlowSync does not share, transfer or disclose Google user data to any third party. The only exceptions are:
- With your consent: for example, if you choose to send us a transfer log or screenshot when you ask for support.
- For security and legal reasons: when necessary to investigate abuse or a security incident, or to comply with applicable law, legal process or a lawful government request.
- Business transfer: as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, only after we notify you and get your explicit consent, and only if the new owner keeps following this policy and the Limited Use requirements.
Because FlowSync connects your computer directly to Google, our hosting provider, email provider and other service providers never receive your Google user data.
2.5 How FlowSync protects Google user data
- Encryption in transit: all communication between FlowSync and Google's APIs uses HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or higher.
- Encrypted token storage: sign-in tokens are encrypted in your operating system's secure credential storage and are never stored in plain text.
- No server copies: FlowSync has no server that stores Google user data, so there is no central copy of your data that could be exposed.
- Minimum access: FlowSync requests only the permissions listed above and acts only on the files and folders you choose.
- No human access: no one at FlowSync can see your Google Drive files or their contents. We only see Google user data if you choose to send it to us, for example in a support request, and we use it only to help you.
2.6 How long FlowSync keeps Google user data, and how to delete it
| Google user data | Where it's kept | How long | How to delete it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sign-in tokens | Your computer (secure credential storage) | Until you sign out of FlowSync or remove its access | Sign out in FlowSync, or remove FlowSync at myaccount.google.com/permissions |
| Account details (name, email, profile picture) | Your computer | Until you sign out | Sign out of FlowSync, or uninstall the app |
| Transfer history | Your computer | Until you clear it or uninstall FlowSync | Clear your history in FlowSync, or uninstall the app |
| File contents | Only where you put them: your computer or your Google Drive | FlowSync keeps no copies after a transfer ends | Delete the files from your computer or Drive as usual |
| Anything you send us (for example, a log in a support email) | Our support mailbox | Up to 12 months after your request is resolved | Email info@flowsync.cloud and we'll delete it within 30 days |
To stop FlowSync from accessing your Google Account, remove it at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Once you do, FlowSync can no longer access your Google Account or Drive. You can also email info@flowsync.cloud to ask us to delete any information we hold about you, and we'll do so within 30 days.
2.7 AI and machine learning
FlowSync does not use Google Workspace APIs or any Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine-learning models, and it doesn't send Google user data to any AI service.
3Other information we collect
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. If you choose to send a diagnostic log, it contains technical details like the app version, operating system, error codes and timestamps. Diagnostic logs never contain your file contents or passwords, and you decide whether to send them.
When you visit flowsync.cloud
Our website doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and it never receives Google user data. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Hostinger) automatically processes basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the site and keep it secure. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers when you visit. The interactive demo on our home page runs entirely in your browser; files you drop into it are never uploaded anywhere.
4How we use other information
- To answer your questions and provide support.
- To fix problems you report and keep the Service secure.
- To send important service notices, such as security updates or changes to our terms. We don't send marketing emails unless you ask for them.
- To comply with legal obligations.
If you're in the European Economic Area or the UK, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (providing the Service and support), our legitimate interests (keeping the Service secure and working), complying with legal obligations, and your consent where we ask for it.
5How we share other information
We don't sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share the information described in section 3 only:
- With service providers that help us run the Service, such as our website host and email provider, who may use it only to provide their services to us.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, the public or FlowSync.
- As part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, after notifying you.
None of these service providers receive Google user data.
6How long we keep other information
We keep support emails and their attachments for up to 12 months after your request is resolved. Our hosting provider keeps website server logs for a limited time for security, then deletes them. When a retention period ends, we delete the information. You can ask us to delete it sooner by emailing info@flowsync.cloud; we'll complete your request within 30 days unless the law requires us to keep it.
7Your choices and rights
- Disconnect Google: sign out in FlowSync, or remove FlowSync at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Delete your information: clear your transfer history in the app, uninstall FlowSync, or email us to delete anything we hold.
- Access, correct and export: ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
- Object or withdraw consent: where we rely on your consent or our legitimate interests, you can withdraw consent or object at any time.
- Complain: you can contact your local data protection authority.
Email info@flowsync.cloud to make a request. We respond within 30 days. We don't sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
8Children
FlowSync is not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your country. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email info@flowsync.cloud and we'll delete it.
9International transfers
Google user data moves only between your computer and Google's servers. Information you send us directly, such as support emails, may be processed in countries other than yours. When we transfer personal information from the EEA or UK, we use appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
10Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above. If we make a material change, especially to how FlowSync uses Google user data, we'll tell you in the app or on our website before the change takes effect, and ask for your consent where required.
